A Shout-Out to Tanya Godwin

Tanya Godwin is one of the most amazing, energetic, and genuinely joyful people I’ve ever met.

She dedicates her life to helping seniors navigate some of life’s most important transitions—whether that’s finding a new home when they need to leave their own, or helping them stay where they are while getting the care they need. And she does it all with a heart that’s as big as her smile.

Over the past year of getting to know Tanya, one thing has been consistent: her energy is unmatched, and her compassion is real. Every time we connect—whether through networking events or conversations—she shows up ready to give. She shares valuable insight on everything from downsizing to understanding senior living options, always focused on what’s best for each individual person.

What stands out most is her accessibility and reliability. Tanya is always there—whether by text, email, or a quick call—and she responds promptly because she truly cares.

This year, she also began contributing to the David Steinberg Family Foundation newsletter, where her impact has expanded even further. Through her writing, she’s helping people across Nebraska and the country better understand Alzheimer’s, dementia, senior living transitions, and how to continue living with joy and purpose through it all.

She shares knowledge the same way I hand out smile cards—freely, generously, and with pure intention. You can tell it fills her up just as much as it helps others.

Every time I see Tanya, she lifts people up. She always has something positive to say, and when I ask for help, she never hesitates—she simply finds a way.

Tanya is truly one of the most unique and special people I’ve ever met. I feel blessed to call her a friend, and I know that everyone she encounters feels that same joy and warmth. Her love for her family, her work, and her community all shine through in everything she does.

If I had to describe her in one word, it would be this:gratitude—because everything she does is rooted in a deep appreciation for the opportunity to help others.

She’s a giver. And giving, truly giving, takes heart, effort, and intention.

This is my way of lifting her up and letting the world know just how incredible Tanya Godwin is.
