Dyslexic Youth

Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of learning challenges.

What is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a neurobiological learning disability causing difficulties with accurate and fluent word recognition, spelling, and decoding, often due to a deficit in the phonological component of language. It is not a sign of low intelligence but rather a different way the brain processes language, often running in families and affecting about 10-20% of the population. Individuals with dyslexia may struggle with reading, writing, spelling, and even organizing information, though with effective, targeted instruction, their reading and other skills can improve.
